Spray Foam Insulation Services

Energy Efficiency Meets Steel Strength

spray foam insulationSymmtrex now offers professional spray foam insulation services to complement our light steel framing systems. Whether your project requires open-cell for soundproofing and full cavity fill, or closed-cell for high R-value and moisture control, our certified team delivers code-compliant, high-performance solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial builds across North Texas.

What Is Spray Foam Insulation?

Spray foam insulation is applied as a liquid and expands to create a continuous barrier against air leaks, drafts, and moisture. Compared to fiberglass or cellulose, it delivers higher performance, longer life, and seamless integration with steel framing systems.

Types of Spray Foam We Offer

Open-Cell Foam

  • Density: ~0.5 lbs/ft³ (lightweight, softer texture).

  • R-Value: ~R-3.6 to R-4.5 per inch.

  • Best For: Interior walls, ceilings, attics, and soundproofing.

  • Advantages:

    • Expands to fill entire cavities for air sealing.

    • Excellent noise reduction.

    • Cost-effective insulation option.

  • Limitations: Not a vapor barrier; may require additional protection in cold or high-moisture climates.

Closed-Cell Foam

  • Density: ~2.0 lbs/ft³ (rigid, durable).

  • R-Value: ~R-6.0 to R-7.4 per inch.

  • Best For: Exterior walls, roof decks, foundations, crawlspaces, and high-performance builds.

  • Advantages:

    • Superior thermal performance in limited space.

    • Acts as a moisture barrier, preventing mold and condensation.

    • Adds structural strength (up to 300% increased racking resistance).

    • Long-lasting (20–30+ years).

  • Limitations: Higher upfront cost compared to open-cell.

Our Installation Process

Insulating with spray foam1. Pre-Job Prep

  • Full site inspection and protection of non-target surfaces.
  • Substrates cleaned, dry, and debris-free.

2. Environmental Checks

  • Temperature and humidity verified for proper curing.
  • Primers applied to steel or masonry if required.

3. Foam Application

  • Open-cell: sprayed in lifts up to 4–6 inches.
  • Closed-cell: sprayed in 1–2 inch lifts for controlled curing.
  • Typical installs:
    • Walls: 2–3” (closed-cell) or 3.5” (open-cell).
    • Roof decks/attics: 3–10” depending on type and code.
    • Crawlspaces/foundations: 2–4” closed-cell.

4. Performance & Finishing

  • Continuous air barrier, consistent thickness.
  • Trimmed flush and prepared for drywall or finishing.
  • Code-compliant fire and ignition barriers installed.

5. Quality Control & Cleanup

  • Coverage checked for voids, adhesion, and R-value compliance.
  • Workspace cleaned and made ready for the next phase of construction.
